Along the West Highland Way

Hiking past the great Ben Glass waterfall to the rugged hills of Loch Lomond’s northern end we pass lovely old forests of birch-, oak- and hazel trees. We come across some ancient ruins of an old settlements pointing to a lively history of the area and you may spot some wild goats left behind when people were moved off the land in the 19th century.

There are grand views, particularly when Loch Lomond appears like a discovery. Once at the shore we signal the ferryman to rescue us back to civilization.

Enjoy the drive along the complete length of Loch Lomond’s western shore and the opportunity to enjoy a pint or a wee dram in one of Scotland’s oldest and most popular pubs, the Drover’s Inn.

  • Walking 8 km, 3 hours, 150 m ascent
