A Perfect Potted Scotland Adventure Day!
The Hike – Ben A’an is a small volcano with a big view! Think: Walk Up A Hill And Come Down A Mountain! It is well worth the bit of puffing to get up those 340m ascent which takes about 3.5 hours (up and down, 4km) including a good break on top taking in those wonderful views over the lake and hills of the National Park.
Cycle Ride – After lunch you have the choice of a fabulous cycle ride along the scenic shores of Loch Katrine or you can walk it, if you prefer, or take a
Boat Ride – on Loch Katrine and learn about the fascinating history and events surrounding this secretive lake. Great activities for families and kids!

A Castle – of course, a castle is the essential item on a Scotland trip and sacrilege to pass by without stopping. Medieval Doune Castle and of Monty Python fame presents a fantastic opportunity en route back to Stirling.

- Walking Distance: 6km, 4 hours in total max, 350 m ascent
- Trail: Good path, steep in places – uneven, rocky in places, often muddy and slippery when wet.
- Fitness: You should have the fitness and balance of someone who regularly enjoys easy walks on dirt tracks and the occasional challenge.
- Health: Please let us know if you suffer from any medical condition which may impair your safety or enjoyment of the trip.

From Stirling we continue our journey north by minibus, ca 35 minutes to the start point of the walk.
Getting to Stirling:
- Easy! A 40 mins train ride from Edinburgh or Glasgow
Stirling is Scotland’s historic hub and it’s magnificent castle well worth a visit. You may choose to stay in Stirling for some of your visit to be nearer the Highlands.

- You can also book by sending us an email. We can then confirm availability and send you an invoice for making payment via bank transfer. Please allow sufficient time ahead as payment needs to be made before the trip.
What to bring
Scotland is famous for its changeable weather and for your enjoyment and comfort we recommend you bring the following:
