Stirling Castle

This is a gem of a medieval fortified palace situated in a delightful riverside spot with the added fascination of being the film set for Monty Python's Holy Grail. Borrow some coconut shells from the visitor centre and hop round the court yard pretending to conquer the castle on horseback, explore its secret passageways and climb to the top of its mighty towers for a magnificent bird's eye view of
the surrounding area.
Highland scenery at its best
The lush and dense Trossachs forests, dotted with picturesque lakes, were the home of famous Rob Roy, Scotland's very own 'Robin Hood'. Loch Katrine, the biggest of the Trossachs lakes, is set amidst beautiful, rugged hills and features as the romantic backdrop in Walter Scott's 19th century legends and poems. Here you have time for an easy stroll along the loch's shore to take in some of Scotland's spectacular and atmospheric Highland scenery and enjoy our complementary delicious picnic lunch.
