Stirling Castle
Arguably Scotland's finest, the castle sits atop a steep crag in a strategic position between the Highlands, the Lowlands and the west and east coasts Stirling has been the centre of some of Scotland's most dramatic historical events: the triumphant battles of independence won by William Wallace and Robert the Bruce, the coronation of Mary Queen of Scots, political strife, murder and
intrigue. Its beautifully intact renaissance architecture is testimony to the long residency of the Stuart monarchy and its location the best place to begin to understand the story of Scotland. Doune Castle
This is a gem of a medieval fortified palace situated in a delightful riverside spot with the added fascination of being the film set for Monty Python's Holy Grail. Borrow some coconut shells from the visitor centre and hop round the court yard pretending to conquer the castle on horseback, explore its secret passageways and climb to the top of its mighty towers for a magnificent bird's eye view of
the surrounding area.
Highland scenery at its best
The lush and dense Trossachs forests, dotted with picturesque lakes, were the home of famous Rob Roy, Scotland's very own 'Robin Hood'. Loch Katrine, the biggest of the Trossachs lakes, is set amidst beautiful, rugged hills and features as the romantic backdrop in Walter Scott's 19th century legends and poems. Here you have time for an easy stroll along the loch's shore to take in some of Scotland's spectacular and atmospheric Highland scenery and enjoy our complementary delicious picnic lunch.
Romantic Lake Loch Lomond
The queen of Scottish lakes is our relaxing afternoon treat with an optional cruise on one of the traditional mail boats or, if you prefer, a walk along the famous West Highland Way, offering breathtaking views of the lake’s island strewn beauty and the mountains of the southern Highlands.
Glengoyne Whisky Distillery
The grand finale to your day is a tour of one of Scotland's oldest distillery for this very special honey coloured water. Enjoy a 'wee dram' to remember.
Come and enjoy!
